Running a YouTube channel is all excitement and fun and games until you see a plateau looming. Then the excitement makes way for dread and the inevitable questions “What am I doing wrong?” and “But I thought my audience liked this?” start to rear their ugly heads.
It’s easy when you first set up a channel; you create content, you shout out into the abyss hoping people will like it, you SEO research, spend time on thumbnails, and pour your heart and soul into your videos.
The only way is up!
Then, once you’ve been posting for a year or so, you might’ve created a decent work/life balance routine, you’re earning a nice side income from your Adsense and maybe you’ve even been lucky enough to score some sponsorships.
You might then slack off and think “I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing” only to be hit by the dreaded plateau. No longer are you seeing those wonderful spikes, no longer are you going viral, no more are you witnessing that sweet 1 of 10 when you post a new video. What is going on?
