Is the world-famous podcasting platform really worth it?

As a preface to this article, I will not be disclosing the name of my podcast at this time. I do not want clickthrough from Medium and other channels to impact on my experiment and want to keep my work organic… for now!

Spotify has over 300,000,000 members from around the globe. If you want to tap into a new audience and launch a podcast, surely this is the way to go?

I created a faceless YouTube channel back in February 2021. Since then, I have amassed over 90,000 subscribers and millions of views.

The next thing I wanted to try was podcasting. I’d seen many YouTube videos on the topic with claims that people can make thousands of dollars a month.

I thought about it and realised that podcasting could be a good way to grow my brand and test the waters on other platforms.

Why did I choose to use Anchor by Spotify to host my podcast?

After looking into various podcast hosting websites, I decided to go with Anchor by Spotify because it is free and it was incredibly easy to set up. Just a few clicks and verifications and you’re all set.
