How I Finally Made $100 in One Month On Medium

I joined Medium last summer after months of lurking, reading articles and thinking “I could do this!”

In my full-time job I was used to writing, reading, and looking for stories. I wondered if it was time for me to get myself out there and start writing my own content.

I wanted to use Medium as a place to explore my creativity and originally started out posting only poetry. I have since deleted quite a few of my poems, not because I’m ashamed of them or anything like that but because I wanted to focus my content on certain topics and full-length blogs.

Since January, I have focussed on YouTube, editor tips, and some Medium related topics.

How much can you really make on Medium?

I’ve mentioned in a previous story that not many people make money on Medium. According to Medium’s stats, only 6.4% of writers earn $100 a month.
