Is CrossFit a Cult?

I’d been toying with the idea of CrossFit for quite some time.

I wanted to get strong and fit.

I didn’t want to spend hours working on targeted exercises to make my butt big and delicious.

I didn’t want to be surrounded by men grunting and telling me how I’m doing exercises wrong.

And I definitely didn’t want to be in a loop of doing the same old workouts while listening to the same old playlists over and over again.

CrossFit felt like a good option for me. After all, it has variety, it’s meant to be social, and it looks like it would keep me on my toes!

What is CrossFit?

According to the official CrossFit website:

CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition.

The keyword here? Lifestyle. CrossFit is a lifestyle.

CrossFit workouts are challenging and can be anything from 15 minutes up to around 45 minutes (in my experience). They can vary in intensity and focus on different movements and techniques. Sometimes you’ll find classes are more cardio and others it’s more gymnastics-based or weights.

The variety keeps you on your toes!
